+ The next time a Supply pile empties, trash this and gain a Loot. |
Search is an Action-Duration card from Plunder. It is a one-shot terminal silver that acts as a delayed Loot gainer. It waits in play until a pile in the Supply is emptied; once that happens, you get a Loot card—and so does anybody else who's played a Search.

[edit] FAQ
[edit] Official FAQ
- If you Throne Room a Search, Throne Room will stay out with Search until a pile empties, and then you'll trash Search once but gain two Loots (and discard Throne Room that turn).
[edit] Other rules clarifications
- If multiple players have played a Search when a Supply pile empties, players trash their Searches and gain Loots in turn order.
- If gaining a card empties a Supply pile, you'll order Search with other when-gain effects, and if trashing a card empties a Supply pile (e.g. Lurker), you'll order Search with other when-trash effects.
- If you play this with Band of Misfits, it will stay in play until a Supply pile empties. When one does, you trash nothing and gain a Loot.
- If emptying a Supply pile causes you to play this (e.g. you gain the last Search and play it with Innovation), that won't trigger the Search (it triggers off the next Supply pile that's emptied).

[edit] Trivia
[edit] Secret History
The first version cost $3 and gave +2 Cards and +2 Actions; too generous. It didn't even trash itself. I changed it to the published version for $3, then later on dropped it to $2.
