Talk:Counting House

The Multiplayer section says "you end up with a 9:6:5 curse split".

That seems peculiar to me, so perhaps I'm missing something.

Isn't 10:6:4 or 10:5:5 far more likely?

I can't see how to get 9:6:5 either. Twenty curse cards will be issues afer 20 curse cards have been played if there is no blocking you get hit each time. That means CH player gets 10. The other 10 split between the other two depending on the usual chance. --Cammuppet (talk) 07:27, 27 June 2014 (EDT)

[edit] Trivia about Name

> The name is a reference to the nursery rhyme, Sing a Song of Sixpence.

Is it? This needs some kind of citation. A counting house is a completely normal thing to have in a set with this theme, and widely existed outside of any specific song etc... and that one mentions a counting house only in passing. Did someone add that on a whim because they've never otherwise heard of a counting house?

Yeah, I see what you mean.... it was DZ who added that factoid, and he's usually pretty responsible about well-sourced information, though. DZ, you there? What's the basis of this? Ajd (talk) 03:24, 8 May 2022 (EDT)

DXV has said that Counting House is a reference to a nursery rhyme (http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=5799.msg354537#msg354537), and you can google "counting house nursery rhyme" to find it. If this is too small of a fact to add, then feel free to delete it. I also don't know why I didn't add the link in the first place, that was pretty dumb of me. -DZ
