Talk:Disappearing money

Any chance we could rename this article?

I clicked on the link to it thinking "what is this 'disappearing money' thing? Maybe it has something to do with Poor House?"

But when I got here, I was like, oh, + Coin.

I'd even go for the German, "Virtual Money" ("virtuelles Geld") over "disappearing money"

Eh?

Also, does anyone read these Talk pages?

I guess we'll find out.

  • I don't think it is just about +Coin, the crucial part is the +Action. So you want cards that act mostly like Treasure, but can be played in the action phase, and thus synergize with "draw up to X" like Library or Minion. DStu (talk) 03:00, 27 November 2012 (EST)

  • Gotcha, I see the distinction. I'm still not keen on the name, but I can't think of anything better, and it's definitely worth having a special term for that type of card. Thanks for chiming in. Also, hey, talk pages! I like it. --Lympi (talk) 03:11, 27 November 2012 (EST)
Yeah, there's another page for virtual money, which does just mean +Coin. "Disappearing money", as DStu says, is +Coin, +Action, and no +Card. I'm open to a different name for it, certainly, but this is the only one I could think of. Ajd (talk) 03:41, 27 November 2012 (EST)

[edit] Plaza

Plaza should fit in the category of disappearing money. Play 3 Plazas, discard 3 coppers, then library. Hertz Doughnut (talk) 11:12, 22 February 2015 (EST)

Okay. Ajd (talk) 11:17, 22 February 2015 (EST)

[edit] Antisynergies

Storyteller, because it becomes a dead card late in the turn since money is produced throughout the turn. --Belugawhale (talk) 20:22, 5 June 2015 (EDT)

  • I wouldn't say that. ST has an interesting relationship with virtual coin - it effectively turns Peddlers into Labs. This can be good; in general, ST wants you to overstock on $ production. Werothegreat (talk) 23:11, 5 June 2015 (EDT)
