I played a game today where Mine had interesting synergy with Watchtower. You can reveal Watchtower as you use Mine in order to start your *next* hand with a Gold or Platinum, which, while situational, often had more utility than just +1 or +2 to my current hand. Does this have some merit?

Oddly enough, the card also works decently well with Loan. You can Trash a few of those Coppers right away, making it easier to draw Mine and Silver in the same hand. Since Mine is really about getting Gold (or Platinum) quickly without using your Buys, Loan helps this process along, and then conveniently can be Mined into a gold itself once you're done with it.
