}}The '''2018 Dominion Team World Cup''' was an online team tournament. It was the third installment of the Dominion Team World Cup. The tournament, run by amoffett11 and Seprix began on the 22nd of January 2018 and finished on 17 March 2018. The Netherlands were the two-time defending title holders. 57 players, divided into 12 teams, entered the competition. The final was played between the top 2 seeded teams, Germany and The United States.  Tied after their first four matches, the two teams selected one player each for a tiebreaker match, which Team United States won 3-2.  

== Format ==
The 12 participating teams are divided into 4 groups of 3 teams. In each group, every team plays against every other team once. The individual matches are 1-1, 2-2, 3-3 and 4-4. Every match consists of 6 games. To mitigate [[first player advantage]] both players have to go first three times. A win is worth 1 point, and a tie 0.5. A loss does not give any points.  The player with more points after 6 games wins the match. If both have 3 points, the match is a draw. A win adds 1 point to the team result, a tie 0.5. After every team has played against every other team in its group, the best two teams from both groups will advance to the play-offs. If these play-offs result in a tie, the following tie-breakers will be applied:
#The team with the most game points from individual matches advances
#If the match is still tied, the team leaders play a sudden death best-of-5 match. 

== Sign-ups ==
The sign-ups had players sign up with their respective country. A player could sign up for their country of origin or their country of residence.  Once a country had at least four players, that country was eligible to compete in the main tournaments. Extra players could be used as reserves.  Several countries were unable to complete a full 4-man team (or some countries had too many players to fit on their 4 man team), so these extra players were reorganized into two 'Refugee' teams, divided by skill.  Each team selected a Captain who would be responsible for selecting and communicating with their players.

Norway and India competed in the World Cup for the first time. Canada returned to the World Cup after being absent for the 2015 World Cup.  After having two teams in each of the first two World Cups, Japan had no team in the 2018 tournament.  The Refugee teams were made up of extra players from Team USA and Team Germany, as well as players from Sweden, Australia, Brazil, and Albania.
