Welcome to the DominionStrategy Wiki Council Room!!

Before you ask a question

  • If you are asking a question, do your research first. You will usually get a quicker answer.
    • If it is a question about Dominion rules: Read the FAQ section on the card page(s) (and other relevant pages) first. You may also want to try the BGG rules forum or a search engine.
    • If you are a beginner looking for entry-level strategy guides: New To Dominion is a good place to start.
    • If it is about Dominion terms / the lingo: Check out the Glossary.
    • If you are having trouble editing the wiki (not specific to this wiki): The Wikipedia Cheatsheet might help. Test edits goes to the sandbox

Starting and replying a topic

  • To start a new discussion topic, click "New Section" to the top-right, or press alt-shift-+.
  • Insert 4 tildes (~~~~) to the end of your post. This signs your post with your username and a timestamp.
  • You may want to use section edits when replying so you aren't faced with a wall of text and you prevent mis-edits.
  • Use colons(:) when replying to comments. This indents text for readability. Use multiple colons when replying to a reply.
  • Use <s>Text</s> to strike out instead of removing text if it is easier to follow the discussion that way.
  • For more editing help, click here.
  • Please do not remove others' comments, except to fix formatting errors that interfere with readability.
  • Offensive and unrelated material will be removed.

Editing crossposted articles

What is the editing policy with regard to strategy articles imported from the blog/forum? E.g., if I spot a typo or misspelling in the wiki, should I fix it or should I leave it as it is to preserve the post as it was originally? 186.221.80.237 08:31, 9 December 2012 (EST)

Editing is fine. This should be the ressource of "correct" data, so if you find something that is outdated or simply wrong, then feel free to correct it. --Qvist (talk) 08:51, 9 December 2012 (EST)

I was wondering the same thing, if we could even heavily edit the articles and merely cite the thread/web page the article came from. Sometimes the wording and sections aren't quite "wiki-like" and could use some "wikification" at the expense of the exact wording of the original article. Thoughts? -Thirtyseven (talk) 19:21, 10 December 2012 (EST)

I think that's appropriate. Heck, a bunch of the earlier articles probably can be updated to talk about interactions with new cards and such anyway, and the community's certainly gotten better since the early days. The posted articles should be the starting point, but not necessarily the final version, that's why they're on the wiki. The original will stay on the blog. Trivia regarding card names

I found these posts on BoardGameGeek where Donald X talks about some cards and how their names came about:

http://boardgamegeek.com/article/5433149#5433149 http://boardgamegeek.com/article/7789338#7789338

Would it be OK to include in the Trivia section of their respective articles?

  • Yep, stuff like that would be great to put in the trivia section of the articles. Ftl ftw (talk) 18:09, 7 January 2013 (EST)
