Also originally it triggered on gaining cards (other than via Hagglers), not just buying them. So you would sometimes get what we called "Haggler explosions." Play Haggler, buy Border Village, gain a Lab via Haggler, gain a Lab for Border Village, gain a Silver for Haggler for that. Woosh, four cards. Combined with the original {{Card|Farmland}}, you could go further. I enjoyed Haggler explosions, but they were too confusing, and the simpler version still gives you plenty of bang. |

Haggler is an Action card from Hinterlands. Haggler allows you to, whenever you buy a card, gain a cheaper card. This ability is very useful in engines where you want cards at multiple price points; and in Big Money, letting you gain Golds and Silvers when you buy a Province or Duchy. In this setting it functions like a weaker, cheaper Hoard, but Haggler scales much better into the Colony / Platinum game.

- The gained card comes from the Supply and is put into your discard pile.
- Haggler only gives you an extra card when you buy a card, not when you gain a card some other way (such as with Haggler itself).
- If there is no cheaper card available in the Supply (e.g., if you buy a Copper), you do not gain a card.

Strategy Article
Haggler is a very good card. It is helpful when building an engine with parts at different price points. Picking up free components is a huge benefit. Additionally, Haggler allows you to green a little bit earlier as you can buy a Province and pick up a free Gold or other important card for free. You should be careful, however, as the card gain is not optional. If there are no cheaper cards that you want, you'll be forced to pick up a Copper. For this reason, you may want to consider not playing the Haggler on occasion.
In big money, Haggler lets you gain free income, most likely Gold, Silver, or more Hagglers to help build up economy and prevent stalling.
