[edit] Heirloom strategy inclusion

As has been the case for every single other Heirloom/split/special other pile, I'm for including the paragraph on Lucky Coin, as it's a significant influence in all Kingdoms in which Fool appears, and only ever is relevant when Fool is present. I'm fine with duplicating that information to the Lucky Coin page (and linking back), but I don't see how removing the discussion about Lucky Coin from here is useful. --Terracubist (talk) 14:37, 31 January 2022 (EST)

The presence of Lucky Coin is a significant influence on kingdoms in which Fool appears, but it's a different card than Fool, and they have no direct interaction other than being present at the same time. I just don't think that a paragraph that says nothing about the strategy for how and when to use Fool belongs in the strategy section on the Fool page. I also don't think the Necropolis strategy section should contain advice on when to buy a Victory card to trash your Hovel. Ajd (talk) 01:52, 1 February 2022 (EST)
I don't think "direct interaction" is necessarily the bar that needs to be cleared here. Lucky Coin massively pushes money strats. Fool can sometimes work in money strats, and is therefore more viable as a direct result of its heirloom. The Necro/Hovel comparison doesn't seem equivalent, given you'd probably just write up all three at once on the Shelters page. There's enough commonality between the three that trying to divide out specifically what only applies to e.g. Hovel seems artificial and (more importantly) not that useful—as a player, I need to understand all these things at once, so the separation of knowledge is actively unhelpful. --Terracubist (talk) 13:32, 1 February 2022 (EST)
I note that the new strategy section for ColonyColony.jpg doesn't have a paragraph about PlatinumPlatinum.jpg strategy that makes no mention of Colony. Ajd (talk) 17:49, 19 February 2022 (EST)
Hm, good point. Those should absolutely be linked. --Terracubist (talk) 14:24, 20 February 2022 (EST)
I mean, sure, they should be linked. But the Colony article itself doesn't contain a lot of text that's not actually about Colony, like "Platinum is a good target for Treasure gainers such as Hero"; that's in the Platinum article because it's a fact about Platinum, and readers can follow the link from Colony if they want to read it. By the same token, people can follow the link from Fool to Lucky Coin if they want to learn about Lucky Coin strategy, but that doesn't mean that a paragraph of text that's about Lucky Coin and not about Fool belongs in the Fool article. I agree Plat/Colony could be better linked, but don't feel strongly enough about them to go and try and rewrite. I don't totally think the Lucky Coin:Fool::Plat:Colony analogy totally holds though, as Lucky Coin is definitely a subcomponent of Fool, and people's first instinct will be to look up the kingdom card rather than the weird heirloom thing. Page view counts seem to support this, as Fool looks like it gets 50% more traffic than Lucky Coin. --Terracubist (talk) 02:20, 21 February 2022 (EST)
