Talk:Glossary

Being new here and not sure what common good practice is (what is and isn't kosher essentially) but trying anyway...

- Adding choke/choking to 'Clog (or Bloat, Gum Up…)' seems logical.

- Also on the forums thread there was some discussion as to whether kingdom should be included in 'Board (or Set, Table, or Tableau)'. I feel it should, but if there is a reason not to, obviously I will bow to that.

Centralizing

The word "centralizing" appears in a lot of strategy articles. Its meaning isn't very clear and it could use a definition here. Ajd (talk) 01:55, 6 May 2021 (EDT)

Pop

  • Pop: To activate a one-shot effect or card. Examples uses include: “I’ll pop my Sinister PlotSinister Plot.jpg next turn” and “They failed to pop their Magic LampMagic Lamp.jpg”.

I don't see how the examples are inconsistent with the definition given, and would like to keep "pop" in the glossary. Can you elaborate? --Terracubist (talk) 14:06, 6 May 2021 (EDT)

Sure: Sinister Plot isn't a one-shot in a sense that will be clear to our readers; you buy Sinister Plot once and then use it several times over the course of the game. And would you really say, for example, "pop an Embargo" or "pop a Horse"? From usage it sounds like it means something more like 'get a powerful one-off effect that takes time or effort to build up to', or something. Ajd (talk) 01:29, 7 May 2021 (EDT)
Makes sense to me. Adding back in. --Terracubist (talk) 14:14, 7 May 2021 (EDT)
