A lot of the strategy article was based on the original version, in which the Estate ''becomes'' the inherited card.  It's no longer true with the new rules.  We probably should update the article, or a least note where it is no longer accurate (for example, I think Band of Misfits has been buffed since it now should still cost {{Cost|5}}.  Also, the on-buy, on-gain, and on-trash triggers no longer apply).--[[Special:Contributions/99.9.38.185|99.9.38.185]] 12:41, 22 December 2020 (EST)

Maybe I'm confused, but I don't think Inheritance is a hard counter against Rabble, in that the Estates all become Action cards which Rabble targets... right? -- Whizkid (talk) 13:24, 27 September 2016 (EDT)

But those Estates are now no longer junk that can be left on top of your deck. It turns Rabble into a Chancellor-ish effect. Werothegreat (talk) 14:35, 27 September 2016 (EDT)

[edit] contradictional

  • After you buy an EstateEstate.jpg, it becomes yours, and "when you buy this" abilities happen, then "when you gain this" abilities. After you gain an Estate without buying it, it becomes yours, and "when you gain this" abilities happen.
    • If you Inherit a Grand MarketGrand Market.jpg, you can buy an Estate with Copper in play, because Estate does not have the abilities of Grand Market until after you already bought it.
Either "when buys" happen then you cant buy Estate with Copper in play or they happen not

The Grand Market "special ability" is not a "when-buy" event, it's a "before-buy" event. Before you buy an Inherited Estate it's not yours, so it does not have this "before-buy" thing. m_knox (talk) 05:12, 7 August 2019 (EDT)

[edit] inheriting highway?

The text currently says:

Effects for "While this is in play", and "When you discard this from play" do not happen, especially hurting Highway.

But it also says:

Game 9 - I use Highway to inherit more Highways and my deck just explodes from there.

This seems to contradict itself.

A lot of the strategy article was based on the original version, in which the Estate becomes the inherited card. It's no longer true with the new rules. We probably should update the article, or a least note where it is no longer accurate (for example, I think Band of Misfits has been buffed since it now should still cost $5. Also, the on-buy, on-gain, and on-trash triggers no longer apply).--99.9.38.185 12:41, 22 December 2020 (EST)

[edit] "That pile"

This also changes Estates in the Supply during your turns as well; if you used Inheritance on a Port and then later bought Seaway, you may gain an Estate and move your +1 Buy token to that pile
