Something that I've done in specific games with Rebuild where hitting $5 more than once a shuffle just isn't gonna happen... I'll buy an Estate, maybe two, and then name Duchy every time I play Rebuild. Thus you Rebuild EVERY Estate into a Duchy before you move from Duchy to Province, which makes you less dependent on hitting $5. After your second Rebuild, you still buy Duchies as well, but you let Estates become Duchies to try and win the split faster than an opponent who doesn't do this.

The idea here is that you don't really need to race for Provinces until the Duchies are gone, and if you are playing the mirror and have won the Duchy split you are likely to win the Province split no matter when you get them. I've used this to get a 1-2 turn edge against opposing Rebuild and more consistently win. Is there some hole in my logic I am missing here? Is it often the best strategy to Rebuild all Estates into Duchies (adding Estates when you run out if you're confident you can get them), or is this actually suboptimal?
