If im correct, a Watchtower is extraordinarily powerful with a magpie near the start of a game. Use a magpie, draw a magpie with +1 card. You now have 1 magpie in your hand. From the first magpie, reveal a card - and it will probably be a copper or estate. As such, you gain a magpie, and with watchtower you can topdeck it immediately.

Now, you can rinse and repeat. Use a magpie to draw a magpie, gain a new magpie and topdeck it immediately.

YOu keep getting +1 Action, so you can keep doing this until you have entirely exhausted the Magpie pile, potentially as early as the 3rd or 4th turn, and have most of them in your hand. You may not WANT to... but thats a different matter.
