Treasure Chest (hypothetical expansion)

From DominionStrategy Wiki

Treasure Chest is the nickname for a hypothetical future Dominion expansion that revisits the themes and gameplay mechanics from each of the previous expansions. For instance, a Treasure Chest expansion might include a new Duration card (from Seaside), a new P-costing card (from Alchemy), and a new Looter (from Dark Ages).

No such expansion is in the works; however, Donald X. Vaccarino has said that, if he were to create a Treasure Chest expansion, it would probably include one card representing each previous small expansion and two representing each large expansion. He has also reported that he considered a Treasure Chest concept for the expansion that ended up being Guilds, but Jay Tummelson persuaded him an expansion based on new mechanics would be more interesting.

Donald X. has written that arguments against creating a Treasure Chest expansion include the fact that most of the expansions' distinctive mechanics either (a) aren't that distinctive (e.g., there are already several cards with on-buy or on-gain effects outside Hinterlands) or (b) require specialized components (such as PotionPotion.jpg cards or Coin tokens) that it would not be economical to include in an expansion containing only one card that used them.
