The DominionStrategy.com Championships are an annually organized tournament by dominion strategy. The tournament was first created in 2011, and has seen two iterations since then, in 2012 and 2015. In 2013 and 2014, Goko was deemed to unstable to organize such a major tournament. The tournaments have their own subforum, and are one of the three on line recurring tournaments to do so, the others being the Dominion League and the Isodom/Gokodom tournaments.
History
In 2011, DominionStrategy.com started the tournament, to celebrate the one-year anniversary of DominionStrategy.com and it's forums.[1] It was organized by Theory and Rrennaud. The format was a single-elimination tournament, with a Kingdom Design competition on the side. This became a huge success, with 256 players and 124 designed Kingdoms. The tournament was won by olneyce, whilst the Kingdom Design competition was won by Wingnut. The tournament was announced as being an annual tournament, and the next year, the tournament was once again organized. Theory got help from Greatexpectations and Jonts26 to host another 256-player tournament, won by Stef The next year, Goko was launched. This meant that the tournament went on an hiatus, because Goko was to unstable to organize such a massive tournament. In 2014, Beyond Awesome suggested rebooting the tournament, but not much came of this suggestion.[2] In 2015, Stef suggested to restart the DominionStrategy.com Championships, and this time the tournament actually was organized.[3] 88 players signed up for this iteration, a significantly lower amount than in previous tournaments.
Results and statistics
In total, a number of 512 matches were played in the first two editions. A grand total of 600 players signed up, 352 Kingdoms were designed and two winners were crowned. The table shows some personal achievements:
