It also has functions as a [[village (card category)|village]] and a source of [[+Buy]], to keep it competitive with the other Rewards. It is not in the [[supply]] and can only be gained by playing {{card|Joust}}.

Demesne replaces the [[removed]] [[Prize]] card {{card|Bag of Gold}} from the first edition of {{set|Cornucopia}}, likewise a [[non-terminal]] {{card|Gold}} gainer but with no other abilities, making it weak compared to the other Prize cards in the first edition.
