Alt-treasure can make King's Cache even more powerful. There is an obvious synergy with Platinum, yielding {{Cost|15}} in combo. A particularly nice combo that is much cheaper to set up is with {{Card|Fool's Gold}}: the initial play yields {{Cost|1}}, but the subsequent two yield {{Cost|4}} for a total of {{Cost|9}}, just as good as playing the card on a Gold, but for a card cheaper than Silver. The fact that Fool's Gold can also gain golds onto the deck in the late game also synergizes with this card. It synergizes somewhat with {{Card|Stockpile}} as the card gets played three times for {{Cost|9}} before being exiled once, and also yields +3 Buy which is likely useful with such high buying power.

The Duration Treasures are slightly less good of a combo with this card because the durations keep this card out of play longer, but it can combine well with {{Card|Abundance}} for {{Cost|9}} and +3 Buy, which you can choose when to cash in on by buying an Action on a specific turn. It can also combine with {{Card|Astrolabe}} for {{Cost|3}} and +3 Buy on this and the next turn. The combination with {{Card|Gondola}} is also good, yielding {{Cost|6}} which you can choose to take this turn or the next to optimize your strategy. {{Card|Rope}} is perhaps better as it yields {{Cost|3}} and +3 Buy now, and +3 Cards and trashing of 3 cards on the next turn. {{Card|Buried Treasure}} also is a strong combo, guaranteeing both extra Buy and lots of coin on the next turn.

Some of the pricier alt-treasures have particularly strong combos with this card. {{Card|Stash}} can be guaranteed to be paired with this card, or in some cases inserted into a location where it will bump this card into being paired with an even better card. {{Card|Hoard}} can be paired with this card to pack your deck with 3 golds on top of {{Cost|6}} buying power, and {{Card|Figurine}} can give you +6 Cards with potential for extra buy and coin, although the coin cannot be triple unless you discard multiple actions. {{Card|Collection}} pairs even better with this card if there is a cheap and desireable action to buy, generating +3VP in that case, and still yielding {{Cost|6}} either way. {{Card|Plunder}} is a good, simple combo yielding +3VP and {{Cost|6}}. If you manage to set up the combo before the curses run out, this card can be absolutely brutal if played with {{Card|Cauldron}}: buy three actions and it deals 3 curses to all players. If any actions costing {{Cost|2}} are on the board, all that is needed for the combo are this card and Cauldron.
