{{Card|Charlatan}} is an [[Action]]-[[Attack]] card from the second edition of [[Prosperity]]. It is a [[curser|cursing attack]] with a twist: its presence somewhat mitigates the badness of {{Card|Curse|Curses}} by turning them into [[Treasure]]s similar to {{card|Copper}}. You still don't want a ton of Copper-like [[junk]] in your deck, and the Curses are still worth negative {{VP}}, but at least now they're not totally [[dead]] cards. 

Its role in the second edition is to replace the [[removed]] first-edition card {{card|Mountebank}}, replacing its distribution of Coopers ''and'' Curses with distribution of Copper-''like'' Curses.

* They may be played for +{{Cost|1}} in the Buy phase. They are trashed [[in play|from play]] when gaining {{Card|Mint}}, {{Card|Magnate}} counts them in your hand, {{Card|Courtier}} (from {{Set|Intrigue|ed=2|Intrigue}}) gives you two choices when revealing one, and so on.
* They are still {{Card|Curse|Curses}} and still worth {{VP|–1}} at the end of the game.
