* If multiple players have played a Search when a Supply pile empties, players trash their Searches and gain Loots in turn order.
* It doesn't matter if the Supply pile had already been emptied on a previous turn. So if you empty a pile, return copies to the Supply (with e.g. {{Card|Swap}}), and empty it again, Search can trigger off that pile again.
* If a non-supply pile (like [[Loot]] or {{Card|Horse}}) is emptied, that won't trigger Search.
* If gaining a card empties a Supply pile, you'll order Search with other when-gain effects. If trashing a card empties a Supply pile (e.g. {{Card|Lurker}}), you'll order Search with other when-trash effects. 
* If you {{Event|Invest}} in the last card of a Supply pile, other players who also {{Event|Invest|Invested}} in that card can order between the +2 Cards from {{Event|Invest}} and trashing their Searches. 
* If you play this with {{Card|Band of Misfits}}, it will stay in play until a Supply pile empties. When one does, you trash nothing and gain a Loot.
* If emptying a Supply pile causes you to play this (e.g. you gain the last {{Card|Gondola}} which lets you play a Search), that won't trigger the Search (it triggers off the next Supply pile that's emptied).
* Ending the game by emptying the third Supply pile, {{card|Province}}s, or {{card|Colony|Colonies}} does trigger Search; you gain the Loot before the game ends. Usually this won't make a difference, but trashing Search and gaining Loot can affect your score due to abilities such as {{card|Fairgrounds}}, {{landmark|Tomb}}, and {{landmark|Keep}}, and there are a few abilities that might allow you to play the gained Loot before the end of your final turn and use it to buy some additional {{VP}}.
