It quickly got the when-gain/trash and for a while seemed fine. One day online tester JNails noticed that it could be nuts with a few of the [[Ally|Allies]] - {{Ally|League of Shopkeepers}} especially. You just buy nothing but Sycophants and {{Card|Province|Provinces}}. So I had to scale it back to requiring at least one card discarded.

It would have been great to not have "If you discarded at least one" on Sycophant. It's so much cleaner. It's worlds better... except for how with two of the [[Ally|Allies]] you get a game that sucks, which JNails found.

I killed it so that other people wouldn't have those sucky games. You can argue that the card then shouldn't have gotten to exist at all, some other ability on top (the bottom is unrelated to this obv.). It did get to exist though, there it is in {{Set|Allies}}.

"This other card also has this problem" is absolutely never an excuse for a new card having that problem, whatever the problem is. Cards also don't get a free pass to make games suck with a particular player count from 2-4. (Iffy on 5, and I super don't care if they hurt 6-player.)
