Doubts about "Other Rules clarifications" expanded by Mxdata

- Ordinary cost reduction only applies directly if nothing has been gained. If a card has been gained, then Wayfarer's "same cost as the last card gained" clause takes precedence. For example, Ferry on Wayfarer will reduce the cost to if nothing else has been gained, but if you gain a Silver, then it no longer has any effect, and it is not . Likewise, Quarry would have no effect on Wayfarer's cost if the last-gained card was not an Action
- It is not the cost of the last-gained card at the time the card was gained that's relevant, but rather, the cost at the time that Wayfarer's cost is checked (e.g., when buying or when trashing for benefit). For example, if you gain a Silver, Wayfarer's cost is now . If you then play a Highway, the cost of Silver, and therefore the cost of Wayfarer, is now

Starting with Quarry: I don't see how the type of last gained card should have impact on Quarry's cost reduction. Wayfarer is still an Action also when a Non-Action was gained. Second bullet: Quite contrary it is the cost at the time of gaining that is relevant. A cost reduction after gaining does affect Wayfarer the same way as it does affect other cards; it does so directly, not because the gained card got cheaper (see http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=20174.msg826818#msg826818). Furthermore Wayfarer could get cheaper while the gained card remains (Silver - Quarry).
