Adventures tokens are those that come with the Adventures expansion. There are 10 different kinds, each in 6 colors (one for each player).
Vanilla bonus tokens
Each player has four tokens which, when placed on an Action Supply pile, give the corresponding vanilla bonus whenever you play a card from that pile. There is a +1 Card token, a +1 Action token, a +1 Buy token, and a + token.
They are used by:

Penalty tokens
Each player has two tokens which, once they are taken, prevent the player from producing a vanilla bonus the next time they try to. There is a -1 Card token and a -

This token, when placed on a set aside non-Victory Action Supply pile, gives all Estates in a player's deck the abilities and types of the set aside card.
