Apprentice and Market Square is a very strong combo, nearly as strong as Hermit and Market Square. The idea is that the reaction of Market Square allows gaining golds, some of which can be trashed by Apprentice to draw your deck. Market Square then conveniently provides +buy to triple or quadruple Province (or double/triple Colony). Without opposing attacks, this can be done in turn 12-14.
[edit] Article
First you load up on Apprentices (as much as possible) and 3 or 4 Market Squares. Getting Apprentices early is important to trash down your deck, so opening with a (terminal) Silver is probably necessary. Opening with a trasher is also very useful. You want to trash down your deck as soon as possible.
After you've trashed your deck, trash 1 or 2 Gold with Apprentice to draw your deck. Then repeatedly trash Gold revealing 3 Market Squares, so that you can pick up the gained Golds an revealed Market Squares immediately (you can reveal 1 or 2 more Market Squares to your last Apprentice, if you have more than 3 of them). Then play your Market Squares and all your Gold. This should give you enough money to buy at least 3 Provinces.
