Virtual coin, also called virtual money, refers to an Action card which provides buying power.
Non-terminal virtual-coin Actions are often classified as either disappearing money or Peddler variant based on whether they are stop cards or not. Terminal virtual-coin Actions almost always stop cards.

Strategy
Action-based generation is important for certain types of draw engines, for example draw-to-X. Also refer to Engines which benefit from disappearing money|Engines which benefit from disappearing money.
Additionally, Action-based payload synergizes with Throne room variants which are often unable to be used on Treasures.
List of cards that offer virtual coin
There are a tremendous number of cards that offer virtual coin. Cards in italics have been removed. Fate cards provide virtual coin when they reveal The Field's Gift or The Forest's Gift. In addition, Way of the Chameleon from Menagerie can turn most draw cards into virtual coin and vice versa.
