Trash a card from your hand. + per it costs. |
Crucible is a Treasure card from Plunder. It is a trash-for-benefit card that gives you + equal to the cost of the trashed card, like Salvager. Unlike Salvager, Crucible is a Treasure (and therefore non-terminal), but it doesn't give +Buy.

I tried a few variations on "some Treasure version of Salvager." One of them was a mess of conditions - + if you had a copy of the trashed card in play, + if its pile was empty, + if it cost or more. A couple versions gave + equal to a number in the card's text; those kinds of things are always fun to playtest, and hey if they somehow work out, yeeha. Then I finally tried the straight "Salvager with no Buy but hey it's a Treasure" and there it is. It's gotta be one of the less-interesting cards to read in the set, but man, I like it, no regrets.
