Princess is an Action-Prize from Cornucopia & Guilds. It provides substantial cost reduction, with +Buy to help make the most of it. It is not in the Supply, and can only be gained by playing a Tournament.

In the second edition of Cornucopia & Guilds, Princess was renamed Renown, as part of the replacement of Tournament and Prizes with Joust and Rewards.

Unofficial FAQ (2022)

• This makes all cards cheaper (to a minimum of ) for the rest of the turn.
• This applies to cards everywhere - cards in the Supply, cards in hand, cards in decks. For example if you played Princess, then Remake, trashing a Copper, you could gain a Silver, as Silver would cost while Copper would still cost .
• This is cumulative with itself and with other forms of cost reduction: for instance, if you play a Bridge and then Princess, costs will be reduced by a total of ; if you use Throne Room on a Princess, costs will be reduced by

Other rules clarifications

Princess's cost-reduction ability was originally below a dividing line checking to see "while it is in play", but since 2022, it simply counts "this turn" when played.

Deprecated official FAQ (2017)

This makes all cards cheaper (to a minimum of ) as long as it is in play. When it leaves play, it stops making cards cheaper. This applies to cards everywhere - cards in the Supply, cards in hand, cards in decks. For example if you played Princess, then Remake, trashing a Copper, you could gain a Silver, as Silver would cost while Copper would still cost . Using Throne Room on Princess will not make cards cost less, as there is still only one copy of Princess in play.

Princess is a strong payload card and is especially worthwhile if you have very good deck control, enabling you to use its cost reduction every turn and in conjunction with gainers. In particular, it may be extremely desirable if there are no other sources of +Buy, in which case it gives you a lot of flexibility to outmaneuver your opponent in the endgame or to possibly gain two Provinces per turn.
