+2 Actions Reveal cards from the top of your deck until you reveal an Action or Treasure card. Put that card into your hand and discard the other cards. |
Farming Village is an Action card from Cornucopia. It is a village (i.e., it gives +2 Actions) that digs for an Action or Treasure, instead of merely drawing the top card of the deck like the vanilla Village does. In addition to its use as a source of +Actions for engines, it can also counter certain Attacks that leave dead cards on top of the deck, such as Rabble.

FAQ
Official FAQ
- Reveal cards from the top of your deck until you reveal a Treasure or Action card.
- If you run out of cards before finding one, shuffle your discard pile (but not the revealed cards), and keep revealing cards.
- If you still cannot find one, just discard all of the revealed cards.
- If you do find a Treasure or Action card, put it into your hand, and discard the rest of the revealed cards.
- A card with multiple types, one of which is Treasure or Action (for example Diadem, a Treasure - Prize), is a Treasure or Action and so will be drawn by this.
- You do not choose Treasure or Action - you stop on the first card matching either type.

Strategy Article
There's no strategy article for Farming Village. It was mentioned in Comparing the Villages by chwhite, edited by theory.
The Comparing the Villages article classifies Farming Village as the best among the 3rd-tier villages. It functions like a vanilla Village but is almost always a little better, since it’s guaranteed to draw a useful card. It is an incredible (and incredibly obvious) counter to Rabble, Fortune Teller, and sometimes Bureaucrat, and also helps to a degree against Ghost Ship. It is definitely one of the better combo-enablers, especially when paired with weaker +Card effects.
Even in the better scenarios, Farming Village's bonus is only a very modest boost, but a Village is often a reasonable buy.
When is Farming Village best?
The differences between scenarios in which Farming Village is better and worse are very subtle. The only decks that have enough dead cards for Farming Village to be a huge benefit are usually either Gardens/Silk Road rush games, where Villages are typically not useful or necessary, or heavy cursing games where Engines that require Villages are also not terribly effective.
In most games, Farming Village will give a small benefit at the beginning of the game, by skipping Estates, and a small benefit late in the game when skipping over accumulated green cards. It tends to be least useful in the mid-game, especially in games where the Estates have been trashed.
Farming Village is best in situations where your deck has a lot of victory cards or Curses to sift through, but when you have gotten rid of Coppers, as the card will still draw Coppers. Copper-trashers like Moneylender, Loan, and Spice Merchant are thus more valuable than normal in a deck with Farming Villages, and the presence of these cards also makes Farming Village more attractive. Farming Village is also more valuable in games where a lot of Curses are being handed out.
There are relatively few situations where Farming Village is worse than a vanilla Village, and most are slightly unusual scenarios that are unlikely to occur regularly in a game: a hand that contains Baron without an estate, a hand where you want to trash or remodel an Estate but don't have one in the hand, or drawing Tournament or Explorer without a Province. And in these cases, Farming Village doesn't really harm you relative to not being in your deck, it just makes it impossible to fix your bad draw when you draw another card.
Synergies/Combos
- Counters Rabble, Fortune Teller, and to some degree Ghost Ship and Bureaucrat.
- Enables engines
- Boards with Copper trashing but without Estate trashing
Antisynergies
- Like many villages, its bonus over Village is just too minor to be worth getting if you're not running an engine and are playing Big Money
- Baron, Tournament, Explorer, or other cards that want to be drawn at the same time as victory cards
