Strategy
Bank is a Kingdom Treasure that is difficult to use for two reasons. First, it is very difficult to acquire, and has a high opportunity cost. Second, the fact that its production scales based on the number of Treasures in play makes it very demanding in terms of draw, as Treasures are almost always stop cards, so the end result of effectively upgrading each Treasure’s output by is usually not worth the draw investment. Without draw support, Bank functions similarly to Gold, which is cheaper but has slightly less upside. The best draw cards to make Bank worthwhile also provide +Buy (e.g. Wharf) so that you can effectively use the it generates. A few other effects can also serve to get Treasures in play for Bank, most notably Storyteller. Gamble can also be useful for gain and playing a Bank after playing your other Treasures.
If the Kingdom offers draw, +Buy, and no superior Action-based alternatives, Bank can be suitable payload; if you are already relying primarily on Treasures, perhaps because strong draw is accompanied by weak Copper thinning, it can be a good way to increase output very rapidly. It can be even more appealing if you can gain it cheaply (e.g., with Hero or Tragic Hero), if it provides via effects such as Keep, or if it serves as a good stepping stone to Province for restricted Remodel variants such as Develop.
