FAQ
Official FAQ
- For example with Settlers in play, buying another Settlers gets you 2 from here.
- Cards from the same pile are not necessarily copies of each other; for example Bustling Village is not a copy of Settlers.
Other Rules clarifications
- You get 2 for each copy of the Action you buy, not for each copy you have in play.
- If you bought Inheritance, Estates will give you 2 when bought with an Estate in play.
- Before the 2019 Errata, a Band of Misfits or Overlord in play would count as a copy of whichever Action it was emulating (unless its emulation was prevented by an Enchantress). This no longer applies, as under the new rules, the only thing in play is the Band of Misfits or Overlord, rather than the card they are playing.
- If you buy an Action card, and you gain an extra copy of it with Talisman and play the extra copy with Innovation, you'll get 2 : the extra copy enters the play area early enough that you still have time to resolve other on-buy effects after it gets there. This does not happen if you simply buy an Action card and play the bought card with Innovation, or buy a card, call Duplicate to gain an extra copy, and play that with Innovation; in these cases the card doesn't enter play until after all on-buy effects are done resolving.
